NHL: Anaheim 5, Florida 3

ANAHEIM, Calif., Dec. 2 (UPI) -- George Parros scored twice to give Anaheim an early three-goal lead Wednesday and the Ducks held on to defeat Florida 5-3.

It was the first two-goal game in a six-year career for Parros, who had scored just once this season prior to Wednesday.

Despite the early outburst for the Ducks, Florida closed within 3-2 when Steve Bernier scored on the power play 1:20 into the third. Corey Perry restored a two-goal lead for Anaheim 45 seconds later but Bernier again brought the Panthers within one with 1:07 to play.

Bobby Ryan finally clinched the victory with an empty-net goal 31 seconds from the end of the contest.

Anaheim won its third straight after losing six in a row. The win went to Jonas Hiller, who made 29 saves.

Bernier had missed the previous eight games following surgery to repair a broken orbital bone.

Tomas Vokoun suffered the loss while stopping 24 shots.
