Move for Heritage highlights 2011 schedule

PONTE VEDRA BEACH, Fla., Dec. 2 (UPI) -- A move for The Heritage and an alteration in the format at the World Match Play Championship highlighted the 2011 PGA Tour schedule released Thursday.

The Heritage, held on Hilton Head Island, S.C., has traditionally been played the week after the Masters but will be pushed back one week on next year's schedule.

Instead, the first tournament played after the Masters in 2011 will be the Texas Open in San Antonio.

Tour officials also announced the title match at the first World Golf Championship event to be played over 18 holes instead of 36.

The season will begin as usual in Hawaii with the playing of an event open only to those who won on the tour in 2010.

The Masters will be played April 7-10. The other three majors next year will be held at Congressional Country Club (U.S. Open), Royal St. George's Golf Club (British Open) and Atlantic Athletic Club (PGA Championship).

There will be no changes made in the FedEx Cup playoffs, which will consist of four events concluding with the Tour Championship in Atlanta. There will be a week off after the first two playoff events.
