NHL: Nashville 4, Columbus 3 (SO)

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Dec. 1 (UPI) -- Steve Sullivan produced the only goal of the shootout Wednesday, giving the Nashville Predators a 4-3 decision over Columbus.

Sullivan faked goaltender Steve Mason out of his net and easily put the puck past him in the second shootout round. Pekka Rinne then saved a shot by Antoine Vermette to give the Predators their second straight win.

Columbus has dropped three in a row.

Nashville had a 2-1 lead going into the third period but Columbus jumped in front on goals by Kris Russell and Vermette. It was Russell's first goal of the season and just the 12th of his four-year career.

Kevin Klein tied it for Nashville on an unassisted slapshot with 8:12 to go in the third.

Rinne got the win with 28 saves. Mason stopped 26 shots.
