DENVER, Dec. 1 (UPI) -- An overtime goal by Anthony Stewart Tuesday gave Atlanta a 3-2 win over Colorado, the Thrashers' sixth consecutive victory.
Stewart broke away from coverage on a wraparound and swept the puck past Peter Budaj 1:49 into overtime. Rich Peverley and Dustin Byfuglien scored and goaltender Ondrej Pavelec allowed two goals on 31 shots for Atlanta.
Matt Duchene and David Jones scored for the Avalanche, who have earned at least one point in their last eight games. Budaj made 28 saves on 31 shots in defeat.
After Jones put Colorado up 2-1 with a power-play goal at 10:10 of the third period, Byfuglien tied it at 13:48 with the second of two consecutive slapshots against Budaj.
