NEW YORK, Nov. 29 (UPI) -- Atlanta Thrashers goalie Ondrej Pavelec and defenseman Dustin Byfuglien drew the first two places Monday in the NHL's "Three Stars" of the week awards.

Garnering the third star for the week ending Sunday was Pittsburgh Penguins center Sidney Crosby.

Pavelec stopped 97-of-99 shots in leading the Thrashers to three straight home wins as Atlanta stretched its winning streak to five games.

The 23-year-old Czech goalie got hot after returning from three weeks off due to a fainting spell and concussion suffered opening night.

Byfuglien, meanwhile, led all NHL defensemen in scoring last week with six points (two goals, four assists), including his league-leading fifth game-winning goal of the season.

Crosby's week saw him climb into first place in the NHL scoring race by recording seven points (four goals, three assists), helping the Penguins post four straight victories.

He reached 40 points with the performance (18 goals, 22 assists).
