NHL: Detroit 4, Columbus 2

DETROIT, Nov. 28 (UPI) -- Niklas Kronwall and Darren Helm notched two quick second-period goals for Detroit Sunday and the Red Wings went on to defeat Columbus 4-2.

The Red Wings took control of the game after Kronwall scored on his own rebound at 10:12 of the middle stanza and Helm struck only 14 seconds later, firing a wrist shot past Steve Mason for a 3-2 lead.

Detroit also got goals from Valtteri Filppula and Danny Cleary. Jimmy Howard turned aside 27 shots as the Wings completed a home-and-home sweep of the Blue Jackets.

Columbus got goals from Derick Brassard and Antoine Vermette. Mason stopped 38 shots in the Blue Jackets' loss.
