NFL: Cleveland 24, Carolina 23

CLEVELAND, Nov. 28 (UPI) -- Phil Dawson booted a 41-yard field goal late in the fourth quarter Sunday and the Cleveland Browns edged Carolina 24-23.

The Browns hung on for the victory when Carolina's John Kasay missed a 42-yard kick as time expired.

Jake Delhomme filled in for rookie starter Colt McCoy and went 24-of-35 through the air for 245 yards -- surviving an interception return for a touchdown by Captain Munnerlyn -- and Peyton Hillis gained 131 yards with three scores for Cleveland (4-7).

Jimmy Clausen racked up 195 aerial yards and Jonathan Stewart rushed for 98 yards on 12 carries for the Panthers (1-10), losers of five straight.
