NHL: Detroit 2, Columbus 1

COLUMBUS, Ohio, Nov. 26 (UPI) -- Jimmy Howard allowed only a third-period goal and made 34 saves Friday, carrying Detroit to a 2-1 decision over Columbus.

The Blue Jackets had a five-game winning streak snapped. A win against the Red Wings would have allowed Columbus to equal the franchise record for consecutive victories.
