SUNRISE, Fla., Nov. 24 (UPI) -- Mark Recchi scored twice in the third period Wednesday to break open a tie score and send Boston past Florida 3-1.
Recchi also reached 1,500 points for his career, making him the 13th player in NHL history to reach that milestone.
Florida owned a 1-0 lead starting the third, but Brad Marchand evened it up with a shorthanded goal just 8 seconds into the period.
Recchi put the Bruins in front at the 2:54 mark and added an insurance goal on the power play with 4 minutes remaining. Boston halted a two-game skid.
Tim Thomas ran his record to 11-1-1 by making 31 saves. Tomas Vokoun gave up three goals on 37 shots.
Steven Reinprecht scored the only goal for Florida, loser of three out of four.
