Fisher: Titans' Young apologizes for spat

NASHVILLE, Nov. 24 (UPI) -- Tennessee Titans Coach Jeff Fisher said Wednesday his estranged quarterback, Vince Young, has apologized for his behavior in their spat.

Young, who was placed on injured reserve this week after a locker room blow-up with the Titans' coach, made his apology via text message, Fisher told reporters.

"He texted me and apologized," said Fisher, asserting he hadn't replied to the signal-caller's message.

Doctors said Young tore a flexor tendon in his thumb during the Titans' Sunday overtime loss to Washington and would require season-ending surgery.

Sources said Young argued with Fisher after the game over his decision to not put him back onto the field after he had hurt his thumb, reportedly storming out of the locker room.

Asked if he would prefer an in-person apology rather than a text message, Fisher said, "I'm not a real big text guy. I'm not really into this new-age stuff. I don't twit or tweet, but I think face-to-face is a man thing."
