NHL: Colorado 4, Dallas 3 (SO)

DALLAS, Nov. 20 (UPI) -- Kevin Porter's goal in the fifth round of a shootout Saturday boosted the Colorado Avalanche to a 4-3 triumph over Dallas.

Porter's wrist shot eluded goaltender Kari Lehtonen on the blocker side after Steve Ott had fired a slapper off the crossbar in the top of the fifth round for the Stars.

The Avalanche won despite blowing a 3-0 lead. They benefited from Milan Hejduk's two power-play goals and 26 saves from Peter Budaj in taking their fourth straight win.

Adam Burish and Brendan Morrow scored 23 seconds apart the second period and James Neal was credited with the tying goal in the final frame for the Stars.

Lehtonen had 23 saves.
