COL BKB: Butler 88, Ball State 55

INDIANAPOLIS, Nov. 20 (UPI) -- Shelvin Mack popped in 19 points and Matt Howard added 16 Saturday, fueling No. 18 Butler's 88-55 rout of Ball State.

The duo were also effective on the glass, with Mack pulling down seven rebounds and Howard grabbing 10 caroms in Butler's 17th straight home victory at Indianapolis.

Shawn Vanzant canned a 3-pointer 6 minutes into the game to give the Bulldogs (2-1) the lead for good at 14-11. The basket sparked a 13-4 run capped by Erik Fromm's trey with 6:16 left in the half.

Vanzant chipped in with added 11 points and helped out with a defensive game that limited Ball State to just 32.7 percent shooting from the field.

Malik Perry led the Cardinals (2-1) with 14 points and Jarrod Jones contributed nine more and grabbed seven rebounds.
