NBA: Utah 98, New Jersey 88

SALT LAKE CITY, Nov. 18 (UPI) -- Deron Williams scored 23 points Wednesday and the Utah Jazz put on a defensive display late in the game to defeat New Jersey 98-88.

The Jazz won for the sixth time in seven games, holding the Nets to 37 per cent shooting.

Utah held an eight-point lead with 4:24 to play and ensured the victory by holding the Nets without a point for the next 3:30. Paul Millsap added 19 points and 15 rebounds for the Jazz, who were coming off a setback to New Orleans.

Al Jefferson contributed 16 points and both Raja Bell and Andrei Kirilenko had 15.

The Nets were paced by Anthony Morrow's 24 points. New Jersey has lost 24 of its last 25 games against teams from the Western Conference.
