COL BKB: Baylor 63, Jackson State 49

WACO, Texas, Nov. 18 (UPI) -- A career-best 20 points by Perry Jones III and a solid defensive effort Thursday brought No. 17 Baylor a 63-49 victory over Jackson State.

The Bears are off to a 3-0 start for the fourth straight year.

Jones made 9-of-13 shots from the field while A.J. Walton was adding 14 points. Baylor had only an eight-point lead at halftime, but held Jackson State to just six points over the first 11:30 of the second half.

The Tigers shot 40 percent from the field and managed a mere 14 rebounds for the entire game.

Jackson State (0-3) was led by Rod Melvin with 22 points.

Baylor star LaceDarius Dunn served the third and final game of a suspension brought about by allegations he struck his girlfriend in the face.
