WASHINGTON, Nov. 14 (UPI) -- John Erskine got the go-ahead goal late in the third period Sunday in the Washington Capitals' 6-4 victory over Atlanta.
Erskine's tally with 6:49 to go bailed out the Caps after they had blown earlier leads of 3-1 and 4-2.

Alex Ovechkin, David Steckel and Mike Green also found the net for Washington, which won for the seventh time in eight games and has compiled a 9-1-1 record in its last 11 contests.
Despite a generally subpar game, Caps goalie Michal Neuvirth finished with 23 stops to pick up the victory.
The Thrashers, losers of five of their last six games, got two goals from Bryan Little. Andrew Ladd and Rich Peverley each scored once.
