NHL: Ottawa 2, Boston 0

BOSTON, Nov. 13 (UPI) -- Brian Elliott collected his first shutout of the season Saturday, stopping 31 shots in the Ottawa Senators' 2-0 whitewash of Boston.

Elliott had to make 10 stops in the final period and blanked the Bruins on power plays in the first and second frames.


The Senators gained their fifth win in six games with goals from Erik Karlsson and Daniel Alfredsson.

Boston goalie Tim Thomas, who entered the game 8-0-0, turned aside 31-of-33 shots as the Bruins went down to defeat for the fourth time in five contests.
