GAINESVILLE, Fla., Nov. 12 (UPI) -- Chandler Parsons opened his senior season with a 16-point effort Friday that helped bring No. 11 Florida a 77-60 victory over North Carolina-Wilmington.
Parsons paced a 52-percent shooting performance and the Gators broke open the game early in the second half.

Florida scored the last six points of the first period to take a 37-26 lead at the break and then held the Seahawks to four points over the first 4:30 of the second.
Alex Tyus added 13 points for the Gators and both Vernon Macklin and Erik Murphy had 10.
North Carolina-Wilmington was led by senior Chad Tomko with 15.
