Danny Briere had two goals for the Flyers, who bounced back from an overtime loss in Washington Sunday that snapped their six-game winning streak. It was Philadelphia's eighth straight victory over the Hurricanes.

The Carolina goal came from Chad LaRose midway through the third period.

Cam Ward was removed from goal after giving up four scores on 13 shots. Justin Peters also allowed four goals on 13 shots in relief.
