RALEIGH, N.C., Nov. 11 (UPI) -- Jeff Carter scored three consecutive goals for his second career hat trick Thursday, pushing the Philadelphia Flyers to an 8-1 rout of Carolina.
The Flyers produced their largest goal total of the season in support of rookie goalie Sergei Bobrovsky, who made 35 saves. Bobrovsky has won seven of his last eight decisions.
Philadelphia had a 1-0 lead when Carter began his scoring binge. He produced a power-play tally with 1:18 to go in the first and then scored twice in the first 6 minutes of the second. Carter has eight goals for the season.
Danny Briere had two goals for the Flyers, who bounced back from an overtime loss in Washington Sunday that snapped their six-game winning streak. It was Philadelphia's eighth straight victory over the Hurricanes.
The Carolina goal came from Chad LaRose midway through the third period.
Cam Ward was removed from goal after giving up four scores on 13 shots. Justin Peters also allowed four goals on 13 shots in relief.
