Shin back at women's golf No. 1 spot

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., Nov. 1 (UPI) -- Jiyai Shin once again passed Cristie Kerr and reclaimed the No. 1 position Monday in the world women's golf rankings.

Shin tied for fourth at the LPGA Hana Bank Championship in South Korea and, with Kerr three strokes back and tied for 12th, was able to move to the top spot. Kerr had taken over the No. 1 position from Ai Miyazato last week.

The leading players are still bunched, however, and additional switches are likely as the season winds down. Eight players in the Top 10 changed places this week.

Shin has a rankings point average of 10.86 while Kerr is at 10.64. Suzann Pettersen (10.52) moved into the No. 3 spot and Miyazato (10.50) is fourth.

Choi No-yeon, who won the Hana Bank Championship, moved one spot up to fifth with a 10.38 average. Yani Tseng (10.14) slipped to sixth.

Michelle Wie (7.92) and Kim Song-hee (7.67) kept the seventh and eighth places, respectively. Paula Creamer (7.35) switching places with Kim In-kyung (7.22) and is ninth after being 10th a week ago.
