LOS ANGELES, Oct. 31 (UPI) -- Caron Butler and Dirk Nowitzki combined for 33 points Sunday and the Dallas Mavericks bested the Los Angeles Clippers 99-83.
Butler scored 17 points and Nowitzki chipped in with 16 points and seven rebounds for the Mavericks, who also got 15 points from Jason Terry.

Jason Kidd chipped in with 13 points, nine rebounds and seven assists for Dallas, which used a 14-3 run early in the third quarter to take control of the contest at 63-52.
Former No. 1 overall draft pick Blake Griffin put in 16 points to go along with nine boards for the Clippers, who fell to 0-3 to start the season.
Los Angeles got a double-double from Chris Kaman with 13 points and 13 rebounds.
