NHL: Detroit 5, Nashville 2

DETROIT, Oct. 30 (UPI) -- Pavel Datsyuk scored twice and added an assist Saturday, propelling the Detroit Red Wings to a 5-2 win over Nashville.

The Red Wings, winners of four of their last five, also got scores from Patrick Eaves, Brad Stuart and Tomas Holmstrom.

Chris Osgood turned aside 23 shots for Detroit.

Nashville came up short in its bid to go 4-0-0 on the road to start a season for the first time in franchise history.

Kevin Kline and Joel Ward scored for the Preds while Pekka Rinne was let in five goals on 28 shots.
