IOWA CITY, Iowa, Oct. 30 (UPI) -- Ricky Stanzi threw for three touchdowns, racking up 190 yards through the air Saturday in No. 19 Iowa's 37-6 rout of No. 5 Michigan State.
The Hawkeyes (6-2, 3-1 Big Ten) built a 17-0 lead in the first quarter on Stanzi's 3-yard TD pass to Colin Sandeman, Michael Meyer's 37-yard field goal and an interception returned 72 yards for a touchdown by Micah Hyde.
Iowa bounced back from its first conference loss to Wisconsin last week to score 37 points before Michigan State could even get on the scoreboard. Adam Robinson added a pair of touchdowns and the Hawkeyes took full advantage of three Michigan State turnovers.
The Spartans (8-1, 4-1) fell from the ranks of the undefeated with the setback.
Kirk Cousins was victimized by three interceptions. He completed 21-of-29 passes for 198 yards and a touchdown for Michigan State.
