NBA: Atlanta 104, Philadelphia 101

PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 29 (UPI) -- Joe Johnson and Al Horford combined for 42 points Friday and Atlanta fought off a late comeback bid to defeat Philadelphia 104-101.

Johnson had a chance to clinch the game from the line with 4 seconds left, but he could make only one. A 3-point attempt to tie it at the buzzer by Andres Nocioni was blocked by Josh Smith, preserving Atlanta's second win in as many games to start the season.

Both of Atlanta's wins have come on the road.

Johnson scored 22 points and Horford had 20 to go with his 12 rebounds. The Hawks shot 51 percent from the field, but turned the ball over 20 times to just eight times for Philadelphia.

The 76ers were led by 27 points and 10 assists from Andre Iguodala.
