NHL: St. Louis 3, Nashville 0

NASHVILLE, Oct. 28 (UPI) -- A 24-save effort by Jaroslav Halak resulted in his second straight shutout Thursday, a 3-0 decision over Nashville that was St. Louis's first road win.

Halak also shut out Pittsburgh last Saturday and ran his record this season to 5-2.

Alexander Steen, who led St. Louis in 2009-10 with 24 goals, scored his first of the campaign with 7:04 to go in the second period. Steen's shorthanded tally opened the scoring and St. Louis finally put it away on late goals from Patrik Berglund and Matt D'Agostini.

Pekka Rinne gave up three goals on 34 shots and Nashville lost in regulation for the first time this year. Its other three setbacks came in overtime.

Steen had gone 12 straight games without a goal, having last scored on April 1. He had taken 27 shots this year without a score and only Ollie Jokinen of Calgary had gone scoreless while taking more shots (28).
