Hoops poll predicts Huskies to win Pac-10

LOS ANGELES, Oct. 28 (UPI) -- The Washington Huskies were considered the clear favorites to finish first in the upcoming Pac-10 men's basketball season in a media poll released Thursday.

Arizona and UCLA were pegged second and third in the poll that was unveiled at Thursday's annual media day in Los Angeles.

The Huskies return four starters this season, including Pac-10 Freshman of the Year Derrick Williams. Williams averaged 15.7 points and 7.1 rebounds per game last season.

Washington picked up 33 of 35 first-place votes in the poll. The Wildcats and Bruins received one vote apiece.

The predicted order of finish for the rest of the conference was: Arizona State, Washington State, USC, defending champion California, Oregon State, Stanford and Oregon.
