Kerr back at No. 1 in women's golf

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla., Oct. 25 (UPI) -- Cristie Kerr returned to the No. 1 spot in the world women's golf rankings, with Jiyai Shin moving up to second and Ai Miyazato dropping to third.

Kerr, who finished eighth at last week's LPGA event in Malaysia, was No. 1 for one week in August before Miyazato took over. She was also ranked on top for three weeks in June and July.

While she's back at No. 1 as of Monday, she owns just a narrow lead for the top spot. Kerr has a ratings point average of 10.88, while Shin is at 10.76 and Miyazato's average is 10.63.

One of those three golfers -- Shin and Miyazato for 10 weeks each and Kerr for five -- has been ranked No. 1 since Lorena Ochoa retired this spring.

However, Suzann Petersen, who edged into the fourth spot with an average of 10.31, and Yani Tseng (10.26) are right behind, suggesting more changes at the top over the final weeks of the 2010 season.

Choi Na-yeon (9.38) retained the No. 6 place while Michelle Wie (8.06) is seventh, Kim Song-hee (7.29) is in eighth and Kim In-kyung (7.14) held onto the No. 9 place.

Paula Creamer moved by Ahn Sun-ju for No. 10. Creamer has an average of 7.09 pints while Ahn is at 7.03.
