ST. LOUIS, Oct. 17 (UPI) -- Steven Jackson's 7-yard touchdown run highlighted a dominant first half and the St. Louis Rams held on to post a 20-17 decision over San Diego Sunday.
Jackson, who rushed for 109 yards, put the Rams up 17-0 with 1:39 to go in the first half and then iced the game with some key runs in the late going, blunting a Chargers comeback try.
Sam Bradford threw for 198 yards and a touchdown, going 18-of-31 through the air for St. Louis (3-3), which won for the third time in four games.
Danario Alexander gained 72 yards on four receptions and the Rams' defense recorded seven sacks.
Phillip Rivers went 22-of-37 passing for 249 yards, with one TD and one interception, and Patrick Crayton hauled down six passes for 117 yards for San Diego (2-4).
