VILAMOURA, Portugal, Oct. 17 (UPI) -- Richard Green came from seven shots back to win the Portugal Masters Sunday, carding a 7-under 65 for a two-stroke victory.
The Australian's comeback tied for the largest of the European Tour season. He took advantage of a rough day by third-round leader Pablo Martin, finishing 18-under 270 at Oceanico Victoria Golf Course.
Martin shared the lead after 12 holes, but then stumbled to three bogeys in a four-hole span that dropped him out of contention. The Spaniard finished with a 3-over 75, good for a sixth-place tie.
Francesco Molinari notched his 10-under 62 of the week to claim a share of second place along with Robert Karlsson (67), Gonzalo Fernandez Castano (68) and Joost Luiten (69) -- all of whom finished at minus-16.
David Dixon (67) and Peter Lawrie (69) joined Martin in sixth place at 15 under 273.
