NASHVILLE, Oct. 14 (UPI) -- Steve Sullivan scored twice in the first period Thursday and the Nashville Predators hung on for a 4-3 victory over St. Louis.
Both the Predators and Blues had won their first two games of the season. Nashville remained unbeaten thanks to Sullivan's early burst and a solid goaltending down the stretch by Anders Lindback.
Sullivan produced a power-play goal with 8:46 to go in the first, giving Nashville a 2-0 lead, and he added a slapshot with 6:08 left in the period. He has four goals in the young season.
The Predators held a 4-2 lead heading into the third before Patrik Berglund scored on the power play with 14:47 to play. Lindback then shut down the Blues and finished with 32 saves.
Jaroslav Halak, who had been in goal for the two St. Louis victories, stopped 18-of-22 shots.
