NHL: Nashville 4, Anaheim 1

NASHVILLE, Oct. 10 (UPI) -- Steve Sullivan's second-period goal put Nashville ahead for good Saturday in what turned into a 4-1 Predators win over Anaheim.

Sullivan broke a 1-1 tie with his tally 8:33 into the middle frame, helping to propel the Predators to a victory in their season opener.

Nashville also got goals from Marcel Goc, Patric Hornqvist and David Legwand.

Goaltender Pekka Rinne left the game after colliding with a Ducks player in his crease 2 1/2 minutes into the third period. He stopped 29 shots to earn the victory before being replaced by Anders Lindback.

Saku Koivu got the only tally for Anaheim. Jonas Hiller turned aside 45 shots for the Ducks.
