COL FB: Michigan State 34, Michigan 17

ANN ARBOR, Mich., Oct. 9 (UPI) -- Edwin Baker rushed for 147 yards and a touchdown Saturday, sparking No. 16 Michigan State to a 34-17 decision over No. 17 Michigan.

Baker keyed a potent ground attack, carrying the ball 22 times.

Le'Veon Bell and Larry Caper each added a rushing touchdown for the Spartans (6-0, 2-0 Big Ten).

Kirk Cousins went 18-of-25 passing for 284 yards and a touchdown, and Michigan State notched its third straight win in the annual battle for the Paul Bunyan Trophy against their intrastate rivals.

Cousins found Mark Dell with three passes for 93 yards and a score.

Heisman Trophy candidate Denard Robinson went 17-of-29 through the air for 215 yards and one touchdown, but was picked off three times for the Wolverines (5-1, 1-1).

Robinson also carried the ball 21 times for 86 yards and a score.
