Jason Arnott put the Devils back in front midway through the second on the power play but Brad Richards again brought Dallas from behind 76 seconds later.

Kari Lehtonen, replacing Marty Turco as the Dallas goaltender this season, kept the Stars tied throughout the third period and became the winner when Eriksson put a wrist shot past Brodeur.

Lehtonen made 27 saves and Brodeur stopped 24 shots.
