Vancouver, Nashville work 4-player deal

VANCOUVER, British Columbia, Oct. 5 (UPI) -- Vancouver picked up defenseman Ryan Parent and forward Jonas Andersson in a four-player trade with Nashville, Canucks General Manager Mike Gillis said Tuesday.

The Predators got defenseman Shane O'Brien and right wing Dan Gendur in return.

Parent, 28, appeared in 48 regular-season games with Philadelphia last season, logging one goal, three points and 20 penalty minutes. He had one goal in 17 playoff games during the Flyers' run to the Stanley Cup Finals.

Andersson, 29, who played in Europe last season, didn't score in his five NHL games.

O'Brien played in 65 games last season, notching a goal and six assists. Over 299 NHL games, he has eight goals and 55 points.

Gendur, 23, split the 2009-10 season in the minors.
