MINNEAPOLIS, Oct. 3 (UPI) -- Adam Lind belted a go-ahead homer in the seventh inning Sunday and the Toronto Blue Jays edged Minnesota 2-1 in the regular season finales for both clubs.
Lind's blast made a winner of Marc Rzepczynski (4-4), who yielded four hits and an unearned run over seven innings to get the victory.
Shawn Camp nailed down his second save for the Blue Jays, who finished the year at 85-77 and won nine of their final 11 contests for retiring manager Cito Gaston.
Nick Blackburn (10-12) pitched well in a final post-season tune-up for the American League Central champion Twins. The right-hander surrendered a pair of runs on three hits over seven innings.
Minnesota, which lost eight of its final 10 games, finished the season with a 94-68 mark and will host the AL wild-card winner New York Yankees Wednesday to start the postseason.
