SEATTLE, Oct. 3 (UPI) -- Brett Anderson yielded one earned run over seven innings Saturday, carrying the Oakland Athletics to a 5-3 win that was the Seattle Mariners' 100th loss.
Anderson (7-6) surrendered two runs (one unearned) on eight hits over seven innings, walking one and fanning six. The Oakland lefty posted the win after going 3-1 with a 2.23 ERA in six September starts.
Mark Ellis and Jack Cust hit solo shots and Chris Carter added a two-run homer to account for the A's scoring.
David Pauley (4-9) absorbed the loss, letting in four runs on four hits over seven frames for the lowly Mariners, who dropped to 61-100 for the year.
