NEW YORK, Oct. 2 (UPI) -- David Wright, Lucas Duda and Chris Carter all homered Saturday, powering the New York Mets to a 7-2 victory over Washington.

Wright's three-run shot in the seventh inning broke open a 2-2 tie and enabled the Mets to clinch their season-ending three-game series with the Nationals at Citi Field.

Ryota Igarashi (1-1) collected his first major league victory after striking out Justin Maxwell with the bases loaded and two outs in the top of the seventh.

Tyler Clippard (11-8) took the defeat for allowing Wright's blast.

Michael Morse homered and Wilson Ramos went 3-for-5 with an RBI for Washington.
