COL FB: Auburn 52, Louisiana-Monroe 3

AUBURN, Ala., Oct. 2 (UPI) -- Cam Newton's three touchdown passes led 10th-ranked Auburn to a 52-3 rout of Louisiana-Monroe Saturday.

Auburn (5-0) rang up 507 yards of total offense in the non-conference game, including 245 yards from Newton's 14-of-19 passing performance.

Four different running backs and two receivers scored TDs for Auburn.

Marion Fannin ran for 89 yards and a touchdown and the defense limited the Warhawks (1-3) to a 35-yard field goal by Radi Jabour in the first quarter.

Kolton Browning was 26-of-34 for 207 yards for Louisiana Monroe.

Auburn set the tone early. Emory Blake caught a pass over the middle on the Tigers' second play of the game and converted it into a 94-yard touchdown, the longest play from scrimmage in school history.

Louisiana-Monroe held the ball for 39 minutes, 14 seconds to Auburn's 20:46, but had seven penalties for 55 yards to just two for 15 yards for the Tigers.
