MLB: Los Angeles Dodgers 3, Colorado 1

DENVER, Sept. 28 (UPI) -- Ted Lilly held the Colorado Rockies to one run over eight innings Monday, out-dueling Ubaldo Jimenez for a 3-1 Los Angeles Dodgers win.

Lilly (9-12) yielded four hits, fanned eight and walked only one to deny Jimenez his 20th win and deal a near-fatal blow to Colorado's post-season hopes.

Hong-Chih Kuo picked up his 11th save with a scoreless ninth and Casey Blake delivered a two-run, first-inning single for the Dodgers. Blake scored on a ninth-inning single by A.J. Ellis.

Jimenez (19-8) held Los Angeles to only two runs on three hits over seven innings, but it wasn't enough to keep the Rockies from sinking further in the National League West.

They fell for the seventh time in eight games and dropped five games behind first-place San Francisco with six games remaining. The Rockies are 4 1/2 games behind Atlanta and four games behind San Diego in the NL wild-card standings.
