SANDY, Utah, Sept. 26 (UPI) -- Nat Borchers' first goal of the season in the closing seconds Saturday rallied Real Salt Lake to a 1-1 tie with Colorado.
Borchers' scored by soaring over two defenders at the top of the 6-yard box and heading the ball past Colorado goalkeeper Matt Pickens in second-half stoppage time.
The draw extended Salt Lake's Major League Soccer record home unbeaten run to 24 games.
The Rapids (10-7-8) had forged a 1-0 first-half lead when Conor Casey scored his fourth goal in the last five games and 11th this season by heading home a cross by Kosuke Kimura.
RSL (13-4-9) is now within two points of league leaders Los Angeles in the Supporters' Shield race with four games left in the regular season.
Colorado is in eighth place in the league's overall table, keeping it in line for the last playoff berth.
