MLB: Texas 16, Oakland 9

OAKLAND, Calif., Sept. 26 (UPI) -- Mitch Moreland pounded a pair of homers Sunday, driving in five runs to fuel the Texas Rangers' 16-9 rout of Oakland.

Jeff Francoeur also went deep with a solo shot and drove in a total of four runs for Texas one day after the Rangers clinched their first American League West title since 1999.

David Murphy knocked in four runs, including a two-run homer, to back Colby Lewis (12-13), who allowed just one on six hits with a walk and six strikeouts over six innings.

A's starter Trevor Cahill (17-8) was rocked for seven runs on 12 hits in just four innings.

Oakland was led at the plate by Steven Tolleson, who connected for a three-run homer, and by Matt Carson's solo shot.
