DETROIT, Sept. 26 (UPI) -- Brandon Inge's 13th-inning single Saturday drove in Miguel Cabrara for an 11-10 Detroit Tigers victory over Minnesota.
The Tigers loaded the bases in the 13th off Pat Neshek (0-1) and Randy Flores came in to pitch. He issued a clean, one-out single to Inge to end a marathon game that featured a total of 37 hits and four errors.
Daniel Schlereth (1-0), the Tigers' seventh pitcher, picked up the victory with 1 2/3 innings of scoreless relief.
Alex Avila went 3-for-4, including a homer, and scored three runs. Cabrera and Dan Kelly also went deep for the Tigers, who trailed 5-0 and 10-7 at various points in the game.
Danny Valencia knocked a pair of homers, including a first-inning grand slam, and drove in five runs for Minnesota.
Denard Span went 4-for-7 with an RBI for the Twins, who dropped their second straight to the Tigers.
Minnesota starter Carl Pavano was pounded for seven runs on 11 hits in four innings.
