MLB: Cleveland 5, Kansas City 3

CLEVELAND, Sept. 26 (UPI) -- Michael Brantley's two-run double capped a big eighth inning Sunday that carried the Cleveland Indians to a 5-3 decision over Kansas City.

Shelley Duncan chipped in with a three-run homer in the frame, during which the Indians scored all five of their runs and went on to win for a third time in their four-game series with the Royals.

Rafael Perez (6-1) got win with 1 1/3 innings of scoreless ball in relief of starter Fausto Carmona, who allowed two runs on six hits over five innings.

Vinnie Pestano notched his first career save with a scoreless ninth.

Royals reliever Robinson Tejeda (3-5) suffered the setback after allowing all five Cleveland runs.

Mike Aviles socked the 5,000th home run in Royals franchise history.
