AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 25 (UPI) -- Johnathan Franklin rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown Saturday and UCLA used a ball-hawking defense to score a 34-12 upset of No. 4 Texas.
The Bruins (2-2) forced five turnovers while quarterback Kevin Prince passed for 27 yards and a touchdown and ran 13 times for 50 yards and a score.
The victory came in UCLA's first visit to Austin since 1997.
The Bruins were led on the ground by Derrick Coleman, who ran for 94 yards and a touchdown on 16 carries. UCLA's rushing attack outgained the Longhorns' by a 264-85 margin.
Texas (3-1) fell short in its bid to start the season 4-0 for a fourth straight year.
Garrett Gilbert completed 30-of-45 passes for 264 yards with a touchdown and an interception for the Longhorns.
