CHAMBOURCY, France, Sept. 24 (UPI) -- John Parry and Jarmo Sandelin worked their way into the lead Friday halfway through the European Tour's Vivendi Cup tournament in France.
Parry shot a 5-under-par 67 and Sandelin turned in a 6-under 66 in the second round. They are at 13-under 131 for the tournament and three strokes ahead of the field.
First-round leader Johan Edfors, who had a record 61 at the Golf de Joyenval's Marly Course Thursday, slipped to a 2-over 74 at the Retz Course and is among six golfers tied for seventh at 9-under.
The tournament is contested on the Marly and Retz courses for the first two rounds but will move to only the Retz Course for the final rounds. Both Parry and Sandelin played Retz Friday.
Parry had a bogey on the fifth hole but it was sandwiched between birdies at Nos. 4 and 6. He had birdies at Nos. 10 and 13 before closing with birdies at 17 and 18.
Sandelin's round included birdies at 1, 5, 7 and 15 and he eagled the par-5, 529-yard sixth hole.
