MLB: Houston 10, Pittsburgh 7

PITTSBURGH, Sept. 24 (UPI) -- Hunter Pence smacked a go-ahead, two-run double in a sixth-inning rally Friday and Houston beat Pittsburgh 10-7, handing the Pirates their 100th loss.

Trailing 5-4 entering the sixth, the Astros struck for four runs, three of them off Chris Leroux (0-1), who suffered his first career loss.

After Angel Sanchez tied the game with a run-scoring hit, Pence belted a liner that short-hopped the right-center field wall and chased home Sanchez and Jason Bourgeois.

Brett Myers (14-7) notched the win despite yielding six runs on six hits over six frames. Brandon Lyon got his 19th save with a scoreless ninth as the Astros took the first contest of a three-game series at PNC Park.

Garrett Jones drove in four runs on a pair of hits and Andy LaRouche socked a pinch-hit solo homer for the Pirates.
