MLB: Washington 7, Houston 2

WASHINGTON, Sept. 23 (UPI) -- Mike Morse, Roger Bernadina and Danny Espinosa all homered Thursday in powering the Washington Nationals to a 7-2 victory over Houston.

The Nationals won the final three outings in the four-game series.

Morse had a solo homer in the second and then touched off a four-run sixth with a two-run double that put Washington in front for good.

Bernadina followed with a two-run shot in the sixth and Espinosa added a two-run blast in the seventh. It was the sixth home run of Espinosa's rookie season.

Ross Detwiler (1-2) allowed two runs over six innings to collect the victory. It was his second major league victory in a career that has spanned parts of three seasons with the Nationals.

Nelson Figueroa (5-4) surrendered five runs on six hits in six innings to take the loss. Houston has dropped five out of eight.
