CLEVELAND, Sept. 19 (UPI) -- Ryan Succop's pair of second-half field goals put Kansas City ahead and the Chiefs hung on down the stretch to post a 16-14 over Cleveland Sunday.
Succop connected on a third-quarter field goal from 26 yards out to pull the Chiefs to within a point at 14-13 and made the go-ahead kick with 7:41 left in the game, a 23-yarder.
Brandon Flowers returned an interception for a second-quarter touchdown for Kansas City, which is off to its first 2-0 start since 2005.
Chiefs quarterback Matt Cassel passed for 176 yards, hitting 16 of his 28 attempts. He was picked off twice.
Seneca Wallace started for Cleveland (0-2) in place of the injured Jake Delhomme and gained 229 yards through the air with a touchdown and an interception.
Joshua Cribbs highlighted the Browns' offense with a 65-yard touchdown reception.
