MLB: Boston 6, Toronto 0

BOSTON, Sept. 19 (UPI) -- Jon Lester tossed seven scoreless innings and J.D. Drew and Victor Martinez each homered Sunday in Boston's 6-0 win over Toronto.

Lester (18-8) scattered four hits, walked four and struck out four to lift the Red Sox to the victory, which enabled them to avoid a three-game sweep at the hands of the Blue Jays.

Bill Hall contributed a pair of hits while Daniel Nava and Yamaico Navarro each drove in a run for the victors.

Toronto starter Shaun Marcum (12-8) was lit up for six runs on nine hits in 5 1/3 innings for the Blue Jays.
