MLB: Boston 4, Toronto 3

BOSTON, Sept. 19 (UPI) -- Jose Bautista socked his 49th home run of the year Saturday in the Toronto Blue Jays' 4-3 decision over Boston.

Bautista's round-tripper put the Jays on the board in the first inning and John McDonald's RBI single in the fourth gave Toronto the lead for good.

Ricky Romero (13-9) surrendered seven hits and three runs over six innings to help the Blue Jays clinch their three-game series at Fenway Park.

Kevin Gregg gave up a two-out triple to Victor Martinez in the ninth but managed to record his 33rd save.

Red Sox starter Josh Beckett (5-5) absorbed the loss, allowing 10 hits and four runs through seven innings.

Boston was led at the plate by Jed Lowrie, who got two hits and knocked in a run.
